Good Junk - No Name Jane/Betta Keep Up

What makes these songs so summery? I don't really know to be honest - It's quite hard to explain. But whatever it is that is needed to produce a summer tune; Good Junk has already managed to deliver it twice this year. The underground Chicago-based DJ has uploaded two dazzlingly funky disco-pop tunes to his Soundcloud. The first; Betta Keep Up, has (Sorry, this is so commonly uttered about upcoming dance artists; but this time it's definitely true) Daft Punk-esque loops layered beneath classic club vocals. Although each of its 6 minutes are rather similar, the tune doesn't become tedious; instead it is infectious and catchy. An other; No Name Jane, is a downright brilliant funk jam; memorable, simple lyrics and basic dance rhythms are used to perfection. But creating these summer tunes as whole mediums cannot be so easy as each individual part is- there is definitely something special about GJ.
